Prayer Support Letter

September 23, 2017
Dear Family and Friends,

When I went on my first summer mission trip to Peru in 2014, I had no idea that the Lord would call me to serve full time in ministry to Peruvian women and children. As He has allowed me to serve the last 4 summers as a short-term missionary, He has been preparing me to move to Peru in July 2018. There I will serve in the Chanchamayo district, specifically in San Ramón, where approximately 95% of the people are non-believers.

I will serve with Peruvian Pastor Jorge Sipion and his wife, Charo, in a local Baptist church there, Jesucristo El Señor Church, teaching the children and working with the women and youth. My primary ministry will be teaching/mentoring women, teens, and children. I will offer English classes to those who want to learn as an evangelism tool. I will lead classes on abstinence in the schools as well as in the community, as teen pregnancy is widespread. I will offer programs and training for teen girls who are on their own, another prevalent issue in the area. I will also continue teaching in surrounding areas, traveling approximately once or twice per month to teach conferences on discipleship topics.

My home church, Country Woods Baptist Church in Byram, MS, is both my sending church and my sending agency. They have committed to being prayer and financial partners with me as I go. They have also committed to helping me raise the additional financial support that I will need to be an effective missionary. My pastor and missions pastor have requested that I have one full year of support before I leave.

So, how can you help? I am asking the Lord to provide Prayer Partners and Prayer-Financial Partners – people who will “go with me to Peru” by praying for me and supporting me financially. In order to move to Peru, I need to raise roughly $2200 per month to cover my housing, living, ministry, and travel expenses within the country. I am asking for friends and family to prayerfully consider giving toward the need. Please know that no gift is too small – every penny counts, literally! It can be a one-time gift or a monthly commitment. For those who would like to partner with me financially, please make your checks out to “Country Woods Baptist Church” with “hrt4Peru” on the memo line and attach it to the Response Card enclosed. Checks will be tax-deductible. Please do not include my name on the check as attaching the Response Card will place your gift on my Peru account.

I am also looking for churches who would like to hear about San Ramón and how they can be involved with the work there as prayer and financial partners. I would be honored to share at missions conferences, in church services, in Life Groups or Small Groups.

I know that many of you have both prayed for me and given for me to serve over the last 4 years. I ask, once again, that you prayerfully consider what the Lord would have you do now. Since lasting results are only possible if God is in it, please commit to praying for me as I prepare for this move and then while I serve the Lord in Peru.

Until All Shall Hear,

Stephanie R. Crawford
